Chronic inflammation is associated with a release of mediators leading to a low‐grade inflammatory situation which can facilitate the progression of Cardiovascular Disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Intestinal Bowel disease, among others.
In those conditions, EPA has demonstrated dose-dependent beneficial effects: a daily intake of >2 g EPA + DHA can modulate inflammatory processes and obtain therapeutic effects.
This article highlights the importance of a sufficient daily intake of EPA to achieve such therapeutic effects, as they are strictly dose dependent.
