A new class of non-drug treatments for rhinitis of various origins is gaining momentum. Among them, Xyloglucan stands out as a natural substance with a well-defined mode of action: its mechanical barrier effect (1) can help in the control of the symptoms of rhinitis by preventing allergens, pathogens and pollutants coming into contact with the nasal mucosa (1, 2).

ARIA guidelines suggest that the avoidance of contact between allergens and mucosa is one of the first steps to controlling the onset of the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (2).
